VIETNAMESE-AMERICAN SINGER-SONGWRITER GIANA NGUYEN’S DEBUT ALBUM CONCERT
WESTMINSTER, CA – The Vietnamese American Arts & Letters Association (VAALA) is proud to be the community sponsor for up and coming singer-songwriter, Giana Nguyen’s debut album release concert on Saturday, February 26 at 7:30pm (doors open at 7:00pm) at The Village Theatre in Orange, CA (1140 N. Tustin Ave., Orange, CA 92867). Giana will perform all new songs from her debut solo E.P. “For Now” distributed by Artisans Label. The concert is all ages. General admission is $10 pre-sale and $12 at the door. Parking is free.
“Giana is definitely someone to watch," says Ysa Le, Executive Director of VAALA, “Giana charmed the audience at our recent event with her amazing voice - she even had people singing along to her rendition of "Hello Vietnam". VAALA is pleased to support a new talent like Giana.”
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Giana was five years old when she and her father joined the mass exodus of refugees fleeing Vietnam and spent seven months in Indonesian refugee camps separated from her other family members who stayed behind in Vietnam. Giana was finally reunited with her mother and younger brother 10 years after arriving in California. Growing up in Orange County, Giana took the practical route in her education and work but music had always held a special place in her heart. More recently, she decided that music should take a more prominent role in her life. A featured artist on the February 2009 release of Don Ho’s "New Wave Nonstop” album, Giana was most recently a featured performer at the monthly Common Ground Open Mic event in Santa Ana.
“I've never felt more ready to explore my creativity, or more eager to immerse myself in music, than I do now,” says Giana, “I'm eager to push forward in this journey as a musician, connecting with people and earning fans one song, one listener at a time.”
Giana Nguyen will also be accompanied by a group of talented musicians including Tony T. Nguyen (piano & acoustic guitar), Chris Garcia (drums), Craig Garcia (bass), David Anthony (lead guitar), and Molly Gutman (back-up vocals). Event sponsors include ArtiSans Label, Channel APA, King Graphic Design, and Molly's Music. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at http://giananguyen.com
