Quang X. Phamis the author of A Sense of Duty: My Father, My American Journey (Ballantine Books, 2005), a finalist for the Southern California Booksellers Association Nonfiction Book Award. At the age of 10, he fled the war in Vietnam and resettled in California. He later served as a U.S. Marine pilot in the 1991 Gulf War then founded Lathian Systems. As an MBA student, he wrote Lathian’s winning business plan that led to $5 million in venture capital funding, the largest prize ever awarded for business plan contests worldwide.
