VAALA is a community-based non-profit organization founded in 1991 by a group of Vietnamese-American journalists, artists, and friends. VAALA’s mission is to promote Vietnamese values in art, to create opportunities for artists to interact with their audience, and to facilitate the communication among different ethnic groups through various forms of art. VAALA is currently a member of the Arts Orange County.

VAALA has organized numerous cultural events such as art exhibitions, book fairs, book signings, recitals, lectures, etc. Local, national, and international press has extensively covered VAALA events. These events help bring the arts and culture to the community, providing a wide array of art and artists to members of the community who otherwise may not be exposed to it.

Vision

VAALA is the center of Vietnamese arts, research, and archives.
