- Advise & approve budgets/programs
- Appoint programming committee chairs
- Fundraise for VAALA
- Trustees of budget (i.e. monitor release funds)
- Produce newsletters
- Organize general VAALA events (i.e. retreat, mixers)
- Grant writing
Executive Committees:
Literature: Anh Dao Do & Bac Minh
Performance Art: Uyen Huynh & Viet Le
Visual Art: Hung Viet Nguyen & Thuy N. D. Tran
Youth Outreach: Taylur Nguyen
Responsibilities of Executive Committee Chairs:
- Recruiting staff and talent (i.e. marketing, PR)
- Bring in projects for their committees
- Monetary: Propose & implement budgets
- Oversee fundraising efforts if necessary
- Programming: Ensure program is in line with VAALA’s mission statement.
- Work plan which needs to be approved by Board of Directors
- Compile final reports for files/archives (all material, feedback, ads, photos, financial reports)
- Attend VAALA meetings (twice a year)
- Collaborate & offer support with other committees
