Written in Vietnamese, the book spans from the dawn of the Vietnamese visual art with the establishment of Ecole des Deax-Arts de I'Indochine, depicting the pioneers such as Bùi Xuân Phái, Nguyễn Gia Trí and Tô Ngọc Vân to the blossoming of a new generation of Vietnamese diasporic artists in the early 1990s.
